It all started with a cow….
As a 10-year-old, if I moved a heard everyday for 6 months I was given a cow. From there I had to decide whether to sell the cow or grow the herd. I chose the former and by the time I was 18 I had enough cattle to buy a car.
From that moment on I knew I wanted to run a business. But I had no idea how to do it, so decided university would be a good start. But when I graduated I really didn’t know much more about running a business than I did when I started.
So I got a job in an accounting firm helping SME businesses and spent the next 10 years learning everything I could about how to run a business. Now I know what a business needs to do to succeed.
